Delivery or Garbage Truck?

So today whilst having a coffee and waiting to pick my wife up I casually opened the iOS App Store and had a look at the Explore tab to check out the Role Playing Games section. It usually takes a few times a year to reinforce the fact that Explore is completely useless for both the "New" apps as well as the top lists, particularly in any of the games categories.

As you can see from the (merged) screenshot above, there's clearly some very clever sorting algorithm going on behind the scenes, and I'm glad noone has figured out how to game the system.

To make things worse, the "Popular" section, while it might actually reflect some measure of popularity, is full of stuff like the Kim Kardashian games. I don't begrudge them being there, this isn't a case of "my games are better than your games", it's just that it doesn't seem to actually be possible to find a list of what I have always known as RPGs on the App Store.

Makes me wonder how the Apple review folks actually manage to find things that are non-scammy to put in their curated lists on the front page.
